Pradeep Sattwamaya (Deep) had the blessed opportunity to be accepted as a disciple by his guru, Paramhamsa Swami Niranjanananda Saraswati ( In the Sannyasa lineage of Shri AdiShankara, Swami Swami Sivananda, Swami Satyananda ). Pradeep spend two full years living and imbibing yoga at Ganga darshan, a traditional Yoga gurukula along the banks of river Ganga in Bihar.
He completed first 12 year phase of discipleship in 2016. Pradeep has also practiced and closely studied the Mysore Astanga Yoga and Iyengar Yoga.

He started practicing yoga as a seven year old, learning some simple classic asanas from his father. Post an engineering degree, devoted full time to studying yoga, graduating from M.Sc. Applied Yogic sciences (from the world’s first yoga university, Bihar Yoga Bharati, Munger, India, with a university gold medal). He has been teaching yoga in India, Europe and South East Asia, training and mentoring over 2000 budding yoga teachers since 2006.

Yoga philosophy has taught Vikramjeet Singh to believe in dreaming, trusting, challenging and experimenting. His motto us based on a statement that there are no mistakes: there is only learning. Vikramjeet believes that life fe is not about struggles, disappointments, or circumstances, life is about falling in love with the magic that surrounds us.

Yoga for Vikram is the necessary and important way of a self-reflection and of continuous learning rather then simply a profession. Yoga inspires him to experiment again and again, and leads him as a teacher to employ some permutation and combination into his practice also.

This wonderful young gentleman feels blessed to be born in one of the most spiritually energetic places on our planet Earth that nowadays deservingly bears the name of the Yoga Capital of the World, in Rishikesh, Uttarakand, India. Vikram’s yoga journey first of all started with immersion and under the loving guidance of his beloved parents, Avtar Kaur and Surinder Singh.

Nevertheless,Vikram’s whole life has changed when he went to complete his Post-Graduate diploma course in Yoga Therapy in Kaivalyadhama, Lonavala. That was the irreversible moment of realisation of how excited and blessed he is to be a part of the world of yogis. That was also the moment of wanting to share his love of yoga and its benefits with others.

Vikram’s practices same as his classes are a combination of the traditional Hatha yoga with the principles of Iyengar yoga and Vinyasa. The practice he shares is full of mindfulness that includes both slow vinyasa flow with classical asanas with experimental transitions into more passive postures to find your stillness through your mental and physical awareness, that as a result have holistic effect and show you the way to sink deeper into your practice.

She was the cofounder and COO of babyoye.com which raised approx $20mn in funding from Accel Partners and Tiger Global, which was later acquired by The Mahindra Group. She was also a Vice President at Infoedge India - a successfully listed Internet company. Arunima is a Master Yoga & Meditation teacher with over 2000 hrs of practice and 1000 hrs of teaching Yoga. Her two passions are yoga and the internet.

Namaste! For me Shvasa is about enabling people to make yoga a part of their daily routine. It is the only way it will work in changing your life. All Kundalini & Chakras and Yogic texts are great, however you can understand them only if your life becomes better today. If you are able to be disease free, fitter and rise above life’s stresses and anxieties and work with your highest ability. This is the biggest outcome of doing a daily yoga class, you get disciplined, more grounded and focused and then drop everything that’s not necessary.

At Shvasa we believe that breath is the vehicle for prana or your vital life force and every practice whether it is a yoga class, meditation or pranayama focuses on conscious breathing. As a result you start breathing through your nose and then immunity happens quite naturally, it did for me. Your higher brain centres get activated and then knowledge or what’s written in yogic texts is something you remember, not something you have to struggle to understand when you read it. You also need not run after or seek knowledge. At shvasa we attempt to cut the mystery and clutter around Yoga and Meditation and help you connect to the present moment.

Another huge aim we have is to enable yoga teachers in India, who are fantastic and have dedicated their lives to yoga, earn a sustainable income and raise their salary levels. What they teach you is a way to connect to yourself and live an amazing and happy life.

CERTIFICATION
How proficient do I have to be in yoga to do the Shvasa YTTC 200 hr program?

More than proficiency in Yoga it is important that you have a regular fitness routine, be it exercising, sport or walking / running and should be injury free. The course will cover all the fundamentals of yoga and hence you will learn everything in the course that is required to build a strong Yoga practice. We do recommend that you have about 6 months to a year of Yoga practice so that you have already experienced some benefits of yoga first hand.

I have a special condition/ injury, can I still take the course?

You will have to meet our course counsellor before you enroll. The counsellor will screen you to understand the degree of your injury and evaluate whether you can join the course or if there is any bridging program you can attend before you join the course.

Can I take the course if I'm pregnant?

We strongly recommend that you take up the course after your pregnancy, It best to focus on your pregnancy and not a new skill. You are most welcome to practice prenatal yoga during your pregnancy.

What happens if I cannot attend some sessions due to an emergency?

All sessions are recorded and will be shared with you. You will have to catch up on the topics and practice of all the sessions you have missed before you can attend the next session.

I do not want to teach yoga, can I still take up shvasa YTTC?

Yes, this course is designed primarily to bring yoga into our lives. Yoga has to work for you as an individual first before you can start sharing this with others. So if personal development is your only goal then this course will have everything you’ll need to make yoga work for you and our needs. You will still have to attend the teaching methods sessions as teaching will help enhance your learning experience. You may however skip the teaching methods assessments

Will I learn to control my mind in the course?

Yes, the classical yoga was primarily developed for the mind and hence all the practices in the course, body, breath, sense practices will help become aware, access and then control the mind. You will be able to be a better manager of your mind as a result of the various practices and philosophical insights experienced during the course.

How will I be assessed for certification?

You will be assessed based on the following aspects:
1. Attendance - you will need 100% attendance (or watch all recording of the sessions).
2. Mid course written assessment - 60 min short answers and one liners.
3. End of course written assessment - 90 min short answers and one liners.
4. End of course practice assessment - 90 min practice.
5. End of course teaching assessment - 15 min each.
6. Post course assignments - to be completed in 90 days after the course.

Will I get to do apprenticeship with Shvasa after I complete my program?

Yes, each of the students who have successfully completed the course will be accepted as apprentice in Shvasa regular classes. You will get a apprenticeship certificate at the end of the program.

What are the advantages of the Online TTC over the in-person TTC?

1. You can learn it from the comfort of your home.
2. You can access any teacher anywhere in the world.
3. You can learn it at your own pace.
4. It is definitely cost-effective.
5. The online YTTC reduces unnecessary effort to travel to the institute or adjust to a new place and new people.
6. You can always have access to all course content for multiple reviews after the course is done.
7. Yoga is an internalising practice and the best way to practice yoga is by yourself.
8. There is better control and more stability of place of practice, you can practice in the same place even when you change teachers. Since you have to practice for years by yourself at home, it's best to do a course at home as well.
9. Access to multiple mediums of instruction like videos, ppt, audio files, whiteboard, making it easier for students to learn from various formats also equipping teachers to deliver a better class. Easy to get in guest faculty, experts in the field for an enhanced learning experience.
10. While doing the online yoga TTC, you can continue to attend to all other responsibilities of life as before. If Yoga is to become a habit yoga has to fit in with everything else you are doing in your daily life.
11. There is reduced inhibition on the part of the student in sharing personal challenges or asking questions.
12. The process of assessing students is much easier in the online space. Hence a detailed assessment is possible that will benefit the students in getting the best out of the course.

What are the disadvantages of the Online TTC over in-person TTC?

1. There might be situations when you face internet issues, sound and visual disturbances - To ensure a seamless experience please ensure you have an internet backup. Also, we at Shvasa, will give you access to the complete recording of the whole session, so you don’t miss a thing.
2. You need to take breaks from screen time for the safety of the eyes -We have carefully designed the course schedule with enough breaks to ensure no strain to your eyes. Also, we recommend you practice eye exercises and Trataka - a yogic cleansing practice ( will be taught in the course ) which will help you to maintain healthy eyesight and refrain from your eyes getting strained.
3.There is not much peer-to-peer interaction - We have ensured peer-to-peer interaction by included many small group assignments that you will need to do with your fellow batch-mates, thus enabling peer-to-peer learning.
4. Cannot have any physical corrections in asana practice - to overcome this limitation our course teachers will dedicate time after the course hours to assist you on a one-on-one basis. You can be assured that every query of your regarding Asana alignment will be resolved by our teachers.
5. You need to be really disciplined to do the online TTC - Though hard-work, this goes well with the objectives of the course. Developing sustained discipline is the key to progress in Yoga and lack of disciple is also the most common hurdle most new yoga practices face. So an online format may actually help improve your discipline.

What are the study material that are included as part of the course fee?

The Shvasa course manual, course personal-journal, all sessions recordings, PDF Yoga text books. The course manual is a fantastic document of your journey through the course. It has many worksheets that you will be filling out soon after your experience in the practical and theory sessions. This manual will be your guide for many years after the course.

How many students are accepted per batch of YTTC ?

Shvasa believes in small class sizes so that there is a good balance of personal attention and peer interaction and learning. Each of Shvasa YTTC batches are limited to only 15 students. Each batch is further divided into 3 groups for a much closer interactions during many group assignments and presentations in the course.

Can I practice in the shvasa online classes during my training period ?

Yes, you can practice in any of the shvasa online live sessions during and after the course for a maximum of 3 months duration. These sessions are optional and do not count towards the course requirement of 200 hours of education.
